Gill is the Nurse director of the GMSA. She has been part of the organisation since February 2022. She is also lead nurse for the NW GMSA.

Gill ensures the smooth running of the nursing and midwifery team and provides strategic overview for the nursing and midwifery transformation projects within both the GMSAs.

Prior to the GMSA roles Gill was Lead nurse of Genomic medicine at Saint Marys Women’s Hospital in Manchester and Lead Nurse for Rare diseases at the Genomics unit NHSE.

Gill held the position, Ambassador for the 100.000 Genomes project from 2016- 2018.

Gill has been part of he Children’s hospital in Manchester since 1985 when she commenced her combined RGN/RSCN training and from 2000. Gill was Lead nurse of the Willink Biochemical Genetics department/ paediatric metabolic team that manages all the metabolic patients from the North of England and beyond. Gill was clinical lead for the department from 2014-2018

Gill is passionate about genomics and the use in modern medicine and is very keen to upskill the current nursing and midwifery work force. Her specialist interest is in learning disabilities and the use of genomics testing in the underserved community.

Gill is married, has two children and a granddaughter.
